Ragna's biography as written by herself:

My name is Ragna (I swear, it's not a penname!). I am currently 24 years old and I live in Southern California. You may have seen my hometown...in "Bring It On" it's referred to as Daytona Beach (during the nationals, the ampitheater where the scene was filmed in actually at Oceanside Pier).

I was a military brat; my dad was in the USMC and we moved around a lot until my mom said "Enough!" and settled her, my sister and myself in Oceanside, CA. I was born nearby, so Oceanside is home. I've lived here for about 14 years. However, I didn't stay here for high school; my parents decided to divorce when I was 13 and my dad moved my sister and I to Beaufort, SC.

(Both towns are used in my fic, hence why I'm bringing it up.)

Anyway, while in Beaufort, I had a few teachers who not only recognized that I had talent for writing, but they encouraged me to pursue it. I wrote poetry, mostly, though I did attempt fanfiction when I was 13 and sent it to the producers of seaQuest DSV. Don't laugh; I was very proud of my rejection letter. I got into the flip side of writing (journalism) my sophmore year but didn't really excel until my senior year, when I was associate editor of my high school paper as well as a teen scorrespondent for the local paper in Beaufort. But that was not enough to keep me in journalism; when I returned to California after graduating at 17, I went to college and initially majored in English.

I have yet to finish college (or decide on a major, for that matter; I've bounced between English, journalism, psychology and I'm now considering criminal justice), but college introduced me to a few things: constant access to the Internet (I'd started designing webpages when I was 16) and teachers who appreciated but did not always understand my style of writing being primary.

It was also when I first entered college that I discovered all the TV I'd missed my last three years in Beaufort, and foremost among the shows was BtVS. I was hooked. The first ep I saw was Never Kill A Boy On The First Date (turning me into a die hard Velvet Chain fan...I'm the first listed street teamer on their site), but the one that really got me was School Hard. I began writing fanfiction because I beleived I had great ideas that would never be ont he show, and I felt I could do it better then some of the other writers whose fic I was reading.

I started with The Changes Trilogy, which I expanded into what eventually became The Giles Saga, using an OC I had created for an RPG I was participating in. It was popular, so I stretched and began writing first more Spike pairings, then stories about other characters, and then other pairings, and finally episode rewrites and alternate universe fics. To date I have about 200 or more solitary stories and a few large series, plus a lot of trilogies and short series. I also have more awards then I probably should.

As both BTVS and A:tS went off the air, I was introduced into the CSI fandom and found another niche: character-driven introspective pieces. My one real exception was the CSI/Buffyverse crossover Geek Love, which spawned more stories by both myself and Aaronlisa, turning into the Demonic Forensics series. It's definitely a work in progress but of all my crossovers, this is one of my absolute favorites.

By the middle of 2005 I got into a few other fandomy aspects, mostly making icons for Live Journal users. It wasn't until standing in line to meet various Veronica Mars cast members at the 2005 Comic-Con in San Diego that I found out I'd become moderately well know for that. Icons are something I continue to work at with an outdated Photoshop program, but one day, I hope to get a better program and make better icons.

My fandoms now include the Buffyverse, CSI/CSI: Miami, Harry Potter and Veronica Mars for fic writing (with other fandoms such as Star Wars, House MD, Crossing Jordan and NCIS to follow). My icons as of late tend to go towards anime and whatever stillness communities I am involved in. I am, however, open to multiple fandoms and interests when it comes to iconing that I don't do with fic.

Most of my fandomy pursuits have taken a backseat since November 2002, when my son Trace was born. At the time I was a member of the highly successful You Got The Stones? challenge group, and that sort of put me on my never-ending quest to fulfill all my challenges (I will, one day, I swear) as well as finding a way to balance motherhood and fandom. Its only been in the last year that I have gone back to being active in the way I was before I had my son, thanks to a strict bedtime on his part and a strange lack of need for sleep on my part.
